Eastport Baptist Ministry Home
Eastport Baptist Church is offering a vacation home for pastor/ministry leaders and their families in Eastport, Michigan for a week during 2010.  Eastport is in the
middle of Michigan’s beautiful recreation area along the shores of Lake Michigan in its upper lower peninsula.  The home is across the street from Torch Lake and
one mile from Lake Michigan.  It is also surrounded by forests and lakes throughout the community with many activities throughout the year for families on vacation.  

The 3 bedroom home is furnished.  The bedrooms have one king bed, one double bed, and two twin beds.  The Kitchen is completely furnished with dishwasher,
stove, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.  Laundry equipment is also available.  There is a back porch, outside grill, and a campfire site in the backyard.  
Deer and wild life come into the back yard.  This is a non-smoking retreat center.  There is no working phone or internet access.

                                                  Torch Lake: Rated by National Geographic as the 3rd most beautiful lake in the
                                                  world.  There is a community beach and boat launch right across from the street in
                                                  walking distance.  
                                                              
                                                  
Lake Michigan:  There is a nice large county park (Barnes Park) and beach ½ mile
                                                  down the road.


Area Lakes:  Plenty of good fishing in area lakes all around.

Fruit Stands:  This is Cherry country, but there are plenty of other fresh foods available.  Many of the fruit stands and farmers markets are located on US-31.
 
Golfing:  There are dozens of golf courses in our area with all kinds of pricing and skill levels.  The two closest are A-Ga-Ming to the south on US-31 and Antrim
Dells to the north on US-31.









Local Festivals and shopping:  There are also many nice festivals throughout the summer months in the small towns and villages.  Some of the local villages and
towns to check out are; Bellaire, Central Lake, Charlevoix, East Jordan, Elk Rapids, Ellsworth, Gaylord, Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Traverse City.  All of these are
less than one hour from the home.

Eastport is a former logging area and there are some historical sites throughout the area.  Eastport is also central to many other places; such as, Traverse City and
Petoskey, both just 45 minutes away.  The home is also just 1 ½ hours from the bridge, Mackinaw City, and ferry boat to Mackinaw Island.
